For the month of March I have not been that good to my hair. I straighten my hair twice ! Something I rarely do. I haven't done much with my hair, which is why I haven't posted anything. I did co wash twice last week and deep condition as well. I used a new deep conditioner that I had in my stash. I decided to finally try it out because of a YouTube video I saw. That deep conditioner was really good, but that was my first time trying it so I can not say a lot on it yet. So for my protective style it will be a sew in again and I'm getting it installed this week ! I spoke about this in my previous update and wanted to give my hair a months break, sort of. I have already purchased the hair which I will share soon (Lola Hair Company). I am going to do my normal wash day prior to the install, which will be this Friday. I am not going to put any heat on my hair though. I plan to do a roller set and then blow out ONLY the roots, then wrap my hair. I want to do a light trim to my hair but I just did that in January. It was NOT the best trim though but I might just do it and cut about half an inch. I have very few split ends but I feel that if I trim now I can avoid getting a trim later and losing out on the length I gained. Reason I want to get another sew in is because trying to style my hair can be really upsetting. I don't get the results I want, like ever! Plus sometimes I get this confidence issue when I wear certain styles. Well I am looking forward to my next install and know it will be another successful protective style.
It feels good to have a clean scalp especially since I haven't washed my hair in almost two weeks! Yeah I know slacker/gross! My hair needed a good wash and some moisture back into it. Also I just came from the beach and even though I wasn't in the water the elements could of been harsh on my hair ex.sun. I started off with clarifying my hair since I haven't washed my hair in awhile. Needed to get rid of product build up and plus its the beginning of the month. I used my suave clarifying shampoo, I would say I do prefer the ORS aloe shampoo but I have yet to buy a full size. I proceeded to conditioning my hair because it was very much needed. I used my L'oreal Power Moisture conditioner and saturated my hair with the product so I can detangle my hair with my fingers instead of a comb. So easy to detangle my hair with this conditioner I love it. Followed up with my deep conditioner which is the Bee Mine D/C. I didn't wear my heating cap or leave in on for hours.
I recently just permed my hair after being natural for 9 months . I missed the relaxed look and i tried almost everything to keep it straightened natural but nothing work so i had to perm it. A New Natural Straightening system just came out and im so sad about it. Your hair journey is very inspiring.
ReplyDeleteAww I'm sorry to hear that. I know how hard it is to accept your natural hair when you enjoy the straight look. I am still in a process of trying to accept it and find natural styles that look nice. & Thank you for saying that it means a lot :)
