Hello 2016 !

Hey! I hope you all had an amazing start to the new year. Around this time everyone has created goals they plan to accomplish. New year so new goals you want to achieve, new challenges you will soon face and new opportunities will come fourth.

I feel 2015 was a bittersweet year. I achieved a lot but also had a few loses that ended up changing my life. Now I just have to keep going on with life and put that behind me. 2016 for me might be the year of a lot of challenges that I will soon be facing and I am ready for it.

My Personal Goals:

- To become a morning person
There something about waking up early and being able to get more done. Also to enjoy the quiet and peacefulness of the early mornings.

- Love Mondays!
Okay so this may sound weird, but what I'm saying is make Monday's my favorite day. I want it to feel like a fresh start every week. Not feel like ugh Monday, if you get what I'm saying haha!

- Read Read Read!
I use to love reading. Every week I was reading something new and I miss that. Especially now when all you are reading is what's on your news feed. So get back into reading more !

- Complete a Project Life album
If you never heard of project life you should YouTube it. Being able to get my photos off my phone or camera and into an actual album is so fulfilling to me. I did one for 2015 that isn't finish but I plan to continue it .

- Blog Weekly
I'm so redundant when it comes to this topic but it will always be a goal of mine. Life is always getting in the way, but I plan to post 1 or 2 post weekly. I have an array of topics in my drafts just waiting to be edited and published.

- Fearless
A word that I will try to implement into my life. I want to be fearless in everything that comes my way. I am typically a reserved and to myself type of person. So I don't take many risk as I really want to. So this year I'm going to be fearless!!

What are your goals for this upcoming year? I love reading people goals and intentions for the new year!

So I Made Waist Length

I made my long term goal! I'm finally waist length. I have been on a hair journey for a very long time and through so many trial and errors I found what helped me. My growth has definitely come from protective styling. I'm either doing a sew in and if not that my hair was always in a bun. Also having a simple hair routine is key! Not only that but keeping up with my ends. I plan to get my ends lightly trimmed but the only person I trust is so far from me but very soon I will get one. I might try to do a new hair goal of hip length but honestly not sure having long hair can kind of be annoying, but I'm not complaining I love my current length.

Product Review: Carols Daughter Black Vanilla Conditioner

Price: $12.00 for 12oz

Claims: "Is a rich hydrating recipe that takes dry, brittle and unmanageable hair and leaves it detangled, soft and easier to style. Perfect as a co-wash for those curly girls out there."

Ingredients (First Few): Cyclopentasiloxane, Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Amodimethicone, AMP-Acrylates Copolymer, Ascorbic Acid, Biotin, Butylene Glycol, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), C11-15 Pareth-7,C12-13 Pareth-23, C12-13 Pareth-3, Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract, Caprylyl Glycol, Cetrimonium, Chloride, Citric Acid, Cyclohexasiloxane, Dicetyldimonium Chloride, Dimethicone,

My Opinion
I haven been wanting to try out Carol's Daughter products for some time now. I finally purchased this conditioner along with the deep conditioner from Target. I started off with Black Vanilla line first because its main focus is moisturizing dry and brittle hair. You can never go wrong with a moisturizing line.

As far as the product goes it does provide great slip! I can detangle my hair in the shower very easily. I leave it on for about maybe two or three minutes, rinse it out a little and then detangle. My comb goes through fine. It does not do much of a good job at detangling my crown area, that is the toughest part of my hair. As far as the length of my hair is does a great job. I really enjoy the scent as well as it isn't an overpowering sweet smell. It also rather faint when I rinse it out completely. Another good thing about this product is that it comes in a pump! I just wish all products would come in a pump. It makes it so much more easier to get the product.

I would give this product a 4/5 stars only because it provides that great slip but only to the looser curl textures of my hair. I still would repurchase this product although it is not a go to for me.

Umm, Hey ?!

have not written a post in over a few months now & I feel a little okay about it. I just was not in the mood to really write about hair. It just started to become repetitive & a little boring to me. Don't get me wrong I still plan on documenting my hair journey & I still enjoy everything hair related. It was just a moment for me that I was kind of over it. I have been enjoying my hair length & been using heat a little too much, but that's okay. I mean isn't that the point of reaching your goal length, to enjoy it in whatever way you want? Well I definitely did & now it's time to get back to my normal hair routine. I still have a long term goal I want to achieve. So let's see where I go from here. This is my small space on the internet & I don't plan on abandoning it any time soon.

Hair Length Check In

I can not believe how far my hair has come. My hair has been in a protective for half the year, which was a sew-in. I did not have a sew in for the summer I gave my hair a break. I am currently debating if I should get another sew in for the colder months that is coming but I am not sure. My hair feels fuller & thicker. I was even asked if I had a weave in lol. Here is my current length. Am I Mid-Back length ?

This picture was taken in Oct/13

Here is my current length as of Oct/14

"Plus! Contains organic ingredients that help promote healthy hair growth."

Source: 1-Natural, 2-Coconut

My Thoughts:
My first time using the product I did not like it. I mainly focused on the word Cowash & went off with my prior thoughts on what a Cowash does. Clean your hair but provides MOISTURE to the hair. After my first use I left it in my stash, but recently I have been using if a few more times. After reading the directions and paying attention to the claims.

This cleansing conditioner is more cleansing then it is conditioning. The product is a gentle cleansers in comparison to a shampoo but is not conditioning as a conditioner. My hair does feel nicely cleansed it does not feel completely stripped but it does not feel moisturized. This product has zero slip which did not make detangling a breeze as it claims. It did not provide my hair with moisture or maintain moisture. After using this I have to always follow up with a conditioner to bring back the moisture that was lost. I would not detangled with this product in my hair. Rinse it out and follow up with a conditioner and it be a lot better. But doesn't that beat the purpose of what a Cowash product is for? It's suppose to be basically a all in one ? No ? Yeah?

Packaging/Consistency:
The product has a thin consistency that I feel is a pro and con. What I do like about it is that it is easier to apply too my roots directly and can easily be rubbed in. What I dislike about it is it's a bit runny and sometimes product runs off my hand. I also dislike the packaging. I feel if the consistency is thick then it belongs in a tub but this product is thin/runny and can easily fall out if dropped, especially in the shower.

Would I Repurchase ?
Eh.. Not really I am pretty sure that there can be a better cleansing conditioner. I want it to give me BOTH gentle cleaning with MOISTURE! I also believe it was the coconut that did not work well with my hair. I was suck into the hype though !

Wash Day

[1] Detangled hair & shampooed in four sections with ORS Aloe Shampoo. I feel that this shampooed is a great shampoo especially to remove build up.
[2] Deep condition with Creme of Nature Moisture Milk Masque. I recently purchased this deep conditioner and wanted to see how well it worked on freshly washed hair. I applied it to my four sections starting from tip working my way up to the root. I put on two plastic caps and left it on for 40 minutes while I did some house cleaning. Rinsing the product out it was nothing impressing. My hair looked really shiny and moisturized, hair detangled rather easily but I detangled prior. First impression it did not wow me.
[3] Leave in of choice was Chi Keratin mist because my hair has been shedding like crazy and Creme of Nature 7-in-1
[4] I also recently purchased Creme of Nature Foaming Lotion. I never used a foaming lotion my initial reason of purchasing this was to do a flexi rod set but I decided to skip that and just braid my hair. I did two flat twist in the front and two braids in the back. Only product used was the foaming lotion. My end results using the Foaming lotion was really nicely defined and soft curls.

Quick Update: Hey guys, I just wanted to give a quick explanation on my hiatus. During the month of July I was going though personal issues that had taken a toll on me. It was something I was not expecting and it hit me hard. Also for the month of August I had started to pack because I am movingin a few weeks which is a milestone for me & once I get settled into my new place I hope to take this blogging space further. Thank you for still sticking around :)
