Sew In Routine

Since I am going to have my install for 6-8 weeks max I decided that I should create a sew-in regimen that I can follow for the remainder of the time. I still have not decided if I should wash my hair/weave weekly or bi-weekly.

Weekly Maintenance

- Apply Lightly JBCO onto edges.
- Moisturize braids 3x weekly
- Protein spritz 1x biweekly
-Sleep with satin bonnet (Of Course)

Wash Days

- Use a non sulfate free shampoo diluted with water in applicator bottle & apply directly to my braids

- Use a deep conditioner diluted with water in applicator bottle apply to braids. Also apply the d/c to the weave to keep it in good condition. Sit under hooded dryer for 30 minutes so the d/c can penetrate my braids.

- Sit under hooded dryer until braids feel dry and to ensure that braids are fully dried use a blow dryer to apply heat directly.

- To get my leave out I will use a roller and roll the hair while sitting under the hooded dryer. If the roots looks a bit wavy still I will just flat iron the root.

I have yet to decide if I want to apply an oil to my braids after I moisturized. But so far my routine is rather simple.

Hair Length Check In

I can not believe how far my hair has come. My hair has been in a protective for half the year, which was a sew-in. I did not have a sew in for the summer I gave my hair a break. I am currently debating if I should get another sew in for the colder months that is coming but I am not sure. My hair feels fuller & thicker. I was even asked if I had a weave in lol. Here is my current length. Am I Mid-Back length ? This picture was taken in Oct/13  Here is my current length as of Oct/14

Wash Day

Today wash day I was suppose to do a protein treatment but I had completely forgot and just went on with my regular routine. Next week I really don't know if I'm going to incorporate protein because I'm planning to either make a visit to the salon (maybe) but if I do my own roller set at home I may do a protein treatment. Thanksgiving next week I plan to use heat for the occasion. Other then next week plans today was day was successful . 1. I washed my hair in four separate sections and used my  Shea Moisture Shampoo . I have yet to use a clarifying shampoo which is needed so I just used this in each section and wash thoroughly. 2. I followed up with Herbal Essence Totally Twisted conditioner to help detangle my hair. Like I said before, If I did not, this conditioner smells amazing! 3. Then followed up with my It's a 10 deep conditioner using heat. This time around it was in my hair for about an hour and half possibly. I had to finish writing a paper and then ate...

Wash Day (7/7)

It feels good to have a clean scalp especially since I haven't washed my hair in almost two weeks! Yeah I know slacker/gross! My  hair needed a good wash and some moisture back into it. Also I just came from the beach and even though I wasn't in the water the elements could of been harsh on my hair ex.sun.  I started off with clarifying my hair since I haven't washed my hair in awhile. Needed to get rid of product build up and plus its the beginning of the month. I used my suave clarifying shampoo, I would say I do prefer the ORS aloe shampoo but I have yet to buy a full size.  I proceeded to conditioning my hair because it was very much needed. I used my L'oreal Power Moisture conditioner and saturated my hair with the product so I can detangle my hair with my fingers instead of a comb. So easy to detangle my hair with this conditioner I love it.  Followed up with my deep conditioner which is the Bee Mine D/C. I didn't wear my heating cap or leave in on for hours. ...
