Hair Weave Removal Horror !

I don't even know where to begin. But I know that I am done with weaves. I took my weave out yesterday and it was not hard to do. The hard part was the detangling! I have never had a hard time when it came to detangling my hair but this time was the worst! My hair was so matted it made it difficult I didn't know what to do. I know that having your hair braided for a long period of time would cause the hair to have an excessive amount of shedding when you take it apart. But this shedding was ridiculous. I am not use to this nor do I know when the shedding is really breakage. I felt like my hair was just coming apart. I used only my fingers to remove any knots or tangles, I was to scared to use anything else.

By the way once I had removed the weave I had apply warm grape seed oil mixed with evoo to the braids so it can be easier to take apart.

Once the braids were taken apart I thought okay this is what the shedding is I'm okay don't freak out. Once I got in the shower and wet my hair just clumps of hair began coming out. I had at least 4 big clumps of hair already taken out. At that point I didn't know what too do or what I done wrong. I pretty much used the products I had purchased and also deep condition with Aussie 3 Min Miracle which did nothing this time around. I ended the shower with tangles still in my hair mainly at my roots. Also started to notice my hair getting dry really quickly. It was unreal! The only good thing I had notice once I got out the shower was I that my curls had finally pop! They were so defined I couldn't believe it. But anyway once my hair dried up I apply the Aussie leave in as a "moisturizer" which left a nasty film like feeling on my hair when I woke up the next morning.

*Side Note I notice my hair doesn't like Leave in conditioner used as a moisturizer. Even when I put the smallest amount*

Anyway in the morning I began to spritz my hair with water so I can try to get the tangles out again and I couldn't find a wide tooth comb anywhere!! I then used my "deman brush" worst thing I had done cause I had more hair coming out.....

Long story short, lol, I went to a salon that morning had more tangles and hair come out end results THIN THIN beyond belief THIN hair. I always had thick hair so for my hair to be this thin is unbelievably. Feel as if I'm missing so much hair in the middle of my head. I just hope that the salon visit that one time doesn't make my curls go away. After this week I'm going back to my curly hair especially since this time it's really curly. Back to the drawing board for me any advice at this point would be appreciated. Especially on how can I make my hair thick again.

Wash Day (7/7)

It feels good to have a clean scalp especially since I haven't washed my hair in almost two weeks! Yeah I know slacker/gross! My  hair needed a good wash and some moisture back into it. Also I just came from the beach and even though I wasn't in the water the elements could of been harsh on my hair ex.sun.  I started off with clarifying my hair since I haven't washed my hair in awhile. Needed to get rid of product build up and plus its the beginning of the month. I used my suave clarifying shampoo, I would say I do prefer the ORS aloe shampoo but I have yet to buy a full size.  I proceeded to conditioning my hair because it was very much needed. I used my L'oreal Power Moisture conditioner and saturated my hair with the product so I can detangle my hair with my fingers instead of a comb. So easy to detangle my hair with this conditioner I love it.  Followed up with my deep conditioner which is the Bee Mine D/C. I didn't wear my heating cap or leave in on for hours.

Umm, Hey ?!

I  have not written a post in over a few months now & I feel a little okay about it. I just was not in the mood to really write about hair. It just started to become repetitive & a little boring to me. Don't get me wrong I still plan on documenting my hair journey & I still enjoy everything hair related. It was just a moment for me that I was kind of over it. I have been enjoying my hair length & been using heat a little too much, but that's okay. I mean isn't that the point of reaching your goal length, to enjoy it in whatever way you want? Well I definitely did & now it's time to get back to my normal hair routine. I still have a long term goal I want to achieve. So let's see where I go from here. This is my small space on the internet & I don't plan on abandoning it any time soon.

Hair Length Check In

I can not believe how far my hair has come. My hair has been in a protective for half the year, which was a sew-in. I did not have a sew in for the summer I gave my hair a break. I am currently debating if I should get another sew in for the colder months that is coming but I am not sure. My hair feels fuller & thicker. I was even asked if I had a weave in lol. Here is my current length. Am I Mid-Back length ? This picture was taken in Oct/13  Here is my current length as of Oct/14
