Giving Weave A Try | Update

I have been thinking about changing my hair a lot recently from the color to deciding if I want to relax it. I just been bored with my hair and I have been trying to do as many natural styles but its either I can't do it, doesn't come out right or it doesn't look right on me. I don't want to manipulate my hair anymore. I'm done with experimenting with color on my own hair and I don't want to continue putting heat on my hair just to cause damage. Soooooo I been thinking about trying out weave? I been looking into it for awhile but now I'm doing my research on it. I don't see any harm in getting weaves what so ever. I can color it and put heat on it I can also pick different textures. Only thing that's holding me back is that awkward feeling of people knowing your actual length and then the next day your hair is down your back lol. But I can get over it I think. This would be a great protective style and I'm hoping it can last for at least 3 months. I'm debating on a sew in or trying a upart wig but I'm more leaning towards the sew in.

I been really wanting to do the ombré hair but don't want to do that to my own hair being that is does involve bleach and I don't want to do that to my hair. I'm planning to put this weave thing into action before the new year or before my birthday, but just want to continue doing research on the best type of hair to buy. Anyway I recently got my hair evenly cut I just couldn't deal with the unevenness. My stylist did a good job in my eyes. Other then that I haven't been neglecting my hair as much I had been cowashing when I remember & m&s when I can. Even though I haven't been doing it constantly I still manage to try even if its like once a week. I know bad. As for trying to blog more often my semester is close to an end & finals are around the corner but for sure I'll be back real soon :)

  1. I want to get an install too but I am worried about the leave out when I do the u-part/ sew in? I don't want to cause any further damages. What do you think? I hate the look and thought of full wigs and I don't know how to keep them firmly on my head:-(

    1. From what I have researched so far is when doing a u-part u can adjust to how much leave out u really want. I'm planning to leave out a small section. I feel the same about a full wig but that's really the only way u can hide all your hair and not worry about any type of damage.

    2. You can also get a full head sew in by just braiding your entire hair and placing a sew cap over. I'm new to this so I'm learning to lol

Wash Day (7/7)

It feels good to have a clean scalp especially since I haven't washed my hair in almost two weeks! Yeah I know slacker/gross! My  hair needed a good wash and some moisture back into it. Also I just came from the beach and even though I wasn't in the water the elements could of been harsh on my hair ex.sun.  I started off with clarifying my hair since I haven't washed my hair in awhile. Needed to get rid of product build up and plus its the beginning of the month. I used my suave clarifying shampoo, I would say I do prefer the ORS aloe shampoo but I have yet to buy a full size.  I proceeded to conditioning my hair because it was very much needed. I used my L'oreal Power Moisture conditioner and saturated my hair with the product so I can detangle my hair with my fingers instead of a comb. So easy to detangle my hair with this conditioner I love it.  Followed up with my deep conditioner which is the Bee Mine D/C. I didn't wear my heating cap or leave in on for hours.

Hair Length Check In

I can not believe how far my hair has come. My hair has been in a protective for half the year, which was a sew-in. I did not have a sew in for the summer I gave my hair a break. I am currently debating if I should get another sew in for the colder months that is coming but I am not sure. My hair feels fuller & thicker. I was even asked if I had a weave in lol. Here is my current length. Am I Mid-Back length ? This picture was taken in Oct/13  Here is my current length as of Oct/14

So I Made Waist Length

I made my long term goal! I'm finally waist length. I have been on a hair journey for a very long time and through so many trial and errors I found what helped me. My growth has definitely come from protective styling. I'm either doing a sew in and if not that my hair was always in a bun. Also having a simple hair routine is key! Not only that but keeping up with my ends. I plan to get my ends lightly trimmed but the only person I trust is so far from me but very soon I will get one. I might try to do a new hair goal of hip length but honestly not sure having long hair can kind of be annoying, but I'm not complaining I love my current length.
