Protective Style (Sew-In) Again!

For the month of March I have not been that good to my hair. I straighten my hair twice ! Something I rarely do. I haven't done much with my hair, which is why I haven't posted anything. I did co wash twice last week and deep condition as well. I used a new deep conditioner that I had in my stash. I decided to finally try it out because of a YouTube video I saw. That deep conditioner was really good, but that was my first time trying it so I can not say a lot on it yet. So for my protective style it will be a sew in again and I'm getting it installed this week ! I spoke about this in my previous update and wanted to give my hair a months break, sort of. I have already purchased the hair which I will share soon (Lola Hair Company). I am going to do my normal wash day prior to the install, which will be this Friday. I am not going to put any heat on my hair though. I plan to do a roller set and then blow out ONLY the roots, then wrap my hair. I want to do a light trim to my ...

My Install | 2 Week

It has been two weeks since I had got my hair installed. I did not write an first impression review when I had received my hair. But to give you some details on it. My hair was purchased on Aliexpress and the vendor was Rosa Hair Products. I purchased 3 bundles of the Malaysian body wave in 14-16-18 for $136. Free shipping and it was decent. I order my hair late Thursday night and received it Tuesday. Packaging was normal. The bundles were in their individual plastic bags. The hair was very soft and there was no shedding what so ever. There was a scent to the hair, like a barbie hair smell is the best I can compare it to. Not smelly but an annoying smell. I colored all three bundles a soft black because they were more of a brown black hair color. I then washed the bundles and the smell was still in the hair not as noticeable but it was there. I then decided to wash it again to see if the smell would completely disappear even did a ACV rinse lol. It was now a faint smell. I applied m...

Wash Day ; Preparing For Sew-In

My install will be happening this week and I wanted to give my hair a really good wash/deep condition. It was pretty simple yet very effective.  I used very minimal products and did a light protein treatment that I have not done in while. I washed my hair at home and went to a salon to get my ends trim and a roller set/blow out done.  1. I prepoo my hair with a mixture of oils EVOO, Grape seed Oil, Jojoba Oil & Avocado Oil. As the oil mixture was heating up in a cup of hot water I parted my hair into four sections. Once I felt the oil was warm enough I applied it to my scalp first sectioning the four parts into two more parts. Then applied it to the lengths of my hair. I then used my Hair Therapy Cap and left it on for 30 minutes.  2. Rinsed the oil out and then shampooed using the Miss Jessie Sudsy Slip Shampoo in my four sections. Although it was a small size it was enough for my entire head. I mainly focused on my roots and rub the suds down the lengt...

Chit Chat ; Protective Styling

Upart #FAIL Last year around this time I had decided to do a protective style which was a sew in. I had a bad experience with it only because I was not able to maintain my real hair the way I had plan to. This year once again I plan to get another sew in. I know I had a previous horror story about the amount of shedding along with the breakage I was receiving once I had took the sew in out. But I understand what I had done wrong and this time around I'm pretty sure there will be more success *fingers cross. Instead of keeping the sew in for 3 months I'm planning to keep it in shorter, depending on how I feel my hair is doing. I originally wanted to do a upart wig which I had created but it came out wrong. My fold over method did not turn out right and for some reason I had sewn the hair on the cap wrong. I did not sew all the way to the front, causing the wig to look ridiculous lol. I also did not have enough hair to cover the entire cap. But I will definitely give it a try...
