Wash Day ; Preparing For Sew-In

My install will be happening this week and I wanted to give my hair a really good wash/deep condition. It was pretty simple yet very effective. I used very minimal products and did a light protein treatment that I have not done in while. I washed my hair at home and went to a salon to get my ends trim and a roller set/blow out done.

1. I prepoo my hair with a mixture of oils EVOO, Grape seed Oil, Jojoba Oil & Avocado Oil. As the oil mixture was heating up in a cup of hot water I parted my hair into four sections. Once I felt the oil was warm enough I applied it to my scalp first sectioning the four parts into two more parts. Then applied it to the lengths of my hair. I then used my Hair Therapy Cap and left it on for 30 minutes.

2. Rinsed the oil out and then shampooed using the Miss Jessie Sudsy Slip Shampoo in my four sections. Although it was a small size it was enough for my entire head. I mainly focused on my roots and rub the suds down the length of my hair. This was my first time using this and it was pretty nice. The scent was okay but the consistency was really weird. It was like a loose but has this sticky look, its hard to describe. I did have suds and it was pretty detangling on my roots. Also did not feel stripping at all.

3. I then applied the ORS Replenishing Pak and upon application my hair felt really soft! I haven't used this product in awhile simply because I dislike the smell of it. I also put my oil mixture from earlier lightly on top of the d/c. Instead of leaving this in for 45 minutes without heat I decided to sit under my hooded dryer for 20 minutes. But boy was this great. It was enough slip to detangle with and hair felt really moisturized. I wouldn't even need to follow up with a moisturizing d/c but I did anyway. I'm also going to add this to my regimen.

4. I deep condition my hair with It's a 10 Hair Mask (Review coming soon) I love this deep conditioner it provides great slip and smells amazing! I left that on with heat for 30 minutes and went to a salon for my stylist to trim, roller set and blow out my hair. I hope to get a picture up real soon.

Umm, Hey ?!

I  have not written a post in over a few months now & I feel a little okay about it. I just was not in the mood to really write about hair. It just started to become repetitive & a little boring to me. Don't get me wrong I still plan on documenting my hair journey & I still enjoy everything hair related. It was just a moment for me that I was kind of over it. I have been enjoying my hair length & been using heat a little too much, but that's okay. I mean isn't that the point of reaching your goal length, to enjoy it in whatever way you want? Well I definitely did & now it's time to get back to my normal hair routine. I still have a long term goal I want to achieve. So let's see where I go from here. This is my small space on the internet & I don't plan on abandoning it any time soon.

Hair Length Check In

I can not believe how far my hair has come. My hair has been in a protective for half the year, which was a sew-in. I did not have a sew in for the summer I gave my hair a break. I am currently debating if I should get another sew in for the colder months that is coming but I am not sure. My hair feels fuller & thicker. I was even asked if I had a weave in lol. Here is my current length. Am I Mid-Back length ? This picture was taken in Oct/13  Here is my current length as of Oct/14

Giving Weave A Try | Update

I have been thinking about changing my hair a lot recently from the color to deciding if I want to relax it. I just been bored with my hair and I have been trying to do as many natural styles but its either I can't do it, doesn't come out right or it doesn't look right on me. I don't want to manipulate my hair anymore. I'm done with experimenting with color on my own hair and I don't want to continue putting heat on my hair just to cause damage. Soooooo I been thinking about trying out weave? I been looking into it for awhile but now I'm doing my research on it. I don't see any harm in getting weaves what so ever. I can color it and put heat on it I can also pick different textures. Only thing that's holding me back is that awkward feeling of people knowing your actual length and then the next day your hair is down your back lol. But I can get over it I think. This would be a great protective style and I'm hoping it can last for at least 3 months...
