Sew-In Take Down

I had a SUCCESSFUL take down !!! Compared to my last take down which was a complete horror story. I did not experience NO matting and NO breakage! I took my sew in down on a Saturday so this is a bit late.  Here how my take down went about:

[1] With the help of someone I had the sew in removed

[2] I then applied a hot oil treatment onto the braids (this will help to unravel the braids easily) Oil is the key to taking down the braids ! It went smoothly

[3] I then unravel and finger detangled to remove all the shed hair one braid at a time. A lot of shed hair was removed which was expected. I also followed up with a wide tooth comb to make sure it is fully detangled

[4] Once I got to my last braid my entire head was fully detangled and all shed hair was removed. I shampoo with Shea Moisture Retention Shampoo.

[5] Followed with Herbal Essence Conditioner that made my hair even more easier to detangled.

[6] Deep condition with Aussie 3x Moist with heat for 35 minutes

[7] I applied Creme of Nature 7 as my leave in

[8] Hair air dried and was put into a bun.

Simple.

Umm, Hey ?!

I  have not written a post in over a few months now & I feel a little okay about it. I just was not in the mood to really write about hair. It just started to become repetitive & a little boring to me. Don't get me wrong I still plan on documenting my hair journey & I still enjoy everything hair related. It was just a moment for me that I was kind of over it. I have been enjoying my hair length & been using heat a little too much, but that's okay. I mean isn't that the point of reaching your goal length, to enjoy it in whatever way you want? Well I definitely did & now it's time to get back to my normal hair routine. I still have a long term goal I want to achieve. So let's see where I go from here. This is my small space on the internet & I don't plan on abandoning it any time soon.

Hair Length Check In

I can not believe how far my hair has come. My hair has been in a protective for half the year, which was a sew-in. I did not have a sew in for the summer I gave my hair a break. I am currently debating if I should get another sew in for the colder months that is coming but I am not sure. My hair feels fuller & thicker. I was even asked if I had a weave in lol. Here is my current length. Am I Mid-Back length ? This picture was taken in Oct/13  Here is my current length as of Oct/14

Giving Weave A Try | Update

I have been thinking about changing my hair a lot recently from the color to deciding if I want to relax it. I just been bored with my hair and I have been trying to do as many natural styles but its either I can't do it, doesn't come out right or it doesn't look right on me. I don't want to manipulate my hair anymore. I'm done with experimenting with color on my own hair and I don't want to continue putting heat on my hair just to cause damage. Soooooo I been thinking about trying out weave? I been looking into it for awhile but now I'm doing my research on it. I don't see any harm in getting weaves what so ever. I can color it and put heat on it I can also pick different textures. Only thing that's holding me back is that awkward feeling of people knowing your actual length and then the next day your hair is down your back lol. But I can get over it I think. This would be a great protective style and I'm hoping it can last for at least 3 months...
