Hair Update

I did gain some length from my sew in I do not have a before photo which upsets me but I know I was at Bra strap (When I say Bra Strap, I mean exactly on it. Others refer to it as just hitting bra strap). I also had gotten a mini trim before the install. I am now past bra strap so I gained about an inch of growth or so, which is awesome! But now I am scared of getting spilt ends! I am a victim of always getting bad split ends & I DO NOT use heat on a weekly or daily basis. I feel that my split ends happen because my hair is always rubbing on my clothes. I constantly do protective styles which are usually braids outs and even though it is a protective style my ends are still exposed. I would do buns again but I feel that buns have caused some damaged to my crown area. My crown area is my problem area and I feel it was because of buns.

I'm sort of stuck on what protective style to do next. I am thinking about doing another sew in but I am not 100% sure if I want to. I did have a better experience then last time. So I know my next sew in will be yet another success. I also want to purchase hair from Lola Hair Company. I would re use my Aliexpress hair but I really want to try hair from Lola Hair. If I do another sew in I am waiting till April to get it done. My hair needs a mini break from another install.

As for my ends I just need to find away to keep them protected but also try not put to much tension onto my crown area. I also need to even out my hair color as you can see there some brown in the middle but I am so scared to color my hair. Well that is another update when I do color because I do have to.

  2. Your ends look really full! Have you considered adding a just little protein conditioner to the ends of the braids for your sew in? It might be a good way to give them a little reinforcement whilst in your protective style.

    1. I had used a protein spritz once a week when they were in braids. I'm not sure how to maintain my ends now to keep the growth I gained.

Umm, Hey ?!

I  have not written a post in over a few months now & I feel a little okay about it. I just was not in the mood to really write about hair. It just started to become repetitive & a little boring to me. Don't get me wrong I still plan on documenting my hair journey & I still enjoy everything hair related. It was just a moment for me that I was kind of over it. I have been enjoying my hair length & been using heat a little too much, but that's okay. I mean isn't that the point of reaching your goal length, to enjoy it in whatever way you want? Well I definitely did & now it's time to get back to my normal hair routine. I still have a long term goal I want to achieve. So let's see where I go from here. This is my small space on the internet & I don't plan on abandoning it any time soon.

Hair Length Check In

I can not believe how far my hair has come. My hair has been in a protective for half the year, which was a sew-in. I did not have a sew in for the summer I gave my hair a break. I am currently debating if I should get another sew in for the colder months that is coming but I am not sure. My hair feels fuller & thicker. I was even asked if I had a weave in lol. Here is my current length. Am I Mid-Back length ? This picture was taken in Oct/13  Here is my current length as of Oct/14

Giving Weave A Try | Update

I have been thinking about changing my hair a lot recently from the color to deciding if I want to relax it. I just been bored with my hair and I have been trying to do as many natural styles but its either I can't do it, doesn't come out right or it doesn't look right on me. I don't want to manipulate my hair anymore. I'm done with experimenting with color on my own hair and I don't want to continue putting heat on my hair just to cause damage. Soooooo I been thinking about trying out weave? I been looking into it for awhile but now I'm doing my research on it. I don't see any harm in getting weaves what so ever. I can color it and put heat on it I can also pick different textures. Only thing that's holding me back is that awkward feeling of people knowing your actual length and then the next day your hair is down your back lol. But I can get over it I think. This would be a great protective style and I'm hoping it can last for at least 3 months...
