Wash Day

This will be my second time washing my hair. I did wash it two week ago but I was not able to write a post. Same routine I did two weeks ago is the same I did today. I'm also 5 weeks in I wanted to take the hair down in one month and two weeks, which will be next week. So next week will be the take down.

- I prepoo my scalp with Avocado Oil, Jojoba Oil & Grape seed Oil. I left that one for 35 Minutes

- I did not rinse it out. I followed up using my As I Am Coconut Cleansing Conditioner in my applicator bottle and applied it directly to my scalp. Lightly rubbing it into my braids.

- Rinsed out the product thoroughly and then followed up with my deep conditioner. I am currently using the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle. I applied it directly to my scalp with my applicator bottle, inside it also had a light mixture of the same oils I used to prepoo with. I then applied the deep conditioner to my whole weave.

-  I sat under a hooded dryer for 35 minutes to allow it to penetrate my scalp a lot better. I then thoroughly rinsed out the product off my scalp and the weave.

- My leave in of choice were my Redken extreme Anti Snap, It's a 10 Leave in & Chi Silk Infusion. I used the It's a 10 on braids since it is a spray and used the Redken Extreme Anti Snap and Chi Silk Infusion to all my leave out.

- I then sat under a hooded dryer for 20 minutes again to make sure that the braids will get dried. To ensure they will be fully dried I used my handheld blower on cool shot to make sure they were dry. Followed up with Tresemme Heat Tamer Spray and flat iron the hair and leave out.

Overall my wash day both my leave out and weave were feeling really good. It has now been one month having the install I plan to take it out in two more weeks. I feel my routine is a lot better then my last install. But I am still nervous about the take down.

Umm, Hey ?!

I  have not written a post in over a few months now & I feel a little okay about it. I just was not in the mood to really write about hair. It just started to become repetitive & a little boring to me. Don't get me wrong I still plan on documenting my hair journey & I still enjoy everything hair related. It was just a moment for me that I was kind of over it. I have been enjoying my hair length & been using heat a little too much, but that's okay. I mean isn't that the point of reaching your goal length, to enjoy it in whatever way you want? Well I definitely did & now it's time to get back to my normal hair routine. I still have a long term goal I want to achieve. So let's see where I go from here. This is my small space on the internet & I don't plan on abandoning it any time soon.

Hair Length Check In

I can not believe how far my hair has come. My hair has been in a protective for half the year, which was a sew-in. I did not have a sew in for the summer I gave my hair a break. I am currently debating if I should get another sew in for the colder months that is coming but I am not sure. My hair feels fuller & thicker. I was even asked if I had a weave in lol. Here is my current length. Am I Mid-Back length ? This picture was taken in Oct/13  Here is my current length as of Oct/14

Giving Weave A Try | Update

I have been thinking about changing my hair a lot recently from the color to deciding if I want to relax it. I just been bored with my hair and I have been trying to do as many natural styles but its either I can't do it, doesn't come out right or it doesn't look right on me. I don't want to manipulate my hair anymore. I'm done with experimenting with color on my own hair and I don't want to continue putting heat on my hair just to cause damage. Soooooo I been thinking about trying out weave? I been looking into it for awhile but now I'm doing my research on it. I don't see any harm in getting weaves what so ever. I can color it and put heat on it I can also pick different textures. Only thing that's holding me back is that awkward feeling of people knowing your actual length and then the next day your hair is down your back lol. But I can get over it I think. This would be a great protective style and I'm hoping it can last for at least 3 months...
