Got a Hair Trimmed & Mini Haul.

It has been over a month or two since I had posted anything no excuses here just was busy with my new semester. Worst schedule by the way. I attend class 6 days a week ! It is crazy hectic and I don't know why I pick my classes that way but I will manage .

I finally got my hair trimmed ! My last trim was a very long time ago. I wanted to take a before and after picture of my hair but literally my hair didn't show a difference in length then my last length check. I had notice many split ends in my hair and I was ready to just get rid of them all. On top of that I really wanted to go short like really short, but I chicken out. Maybe I will someday I been really inspired to go shoulder length. I have seen ladies that have this short curly hair that is just beautiful and that's what I want.  My current length is no longer past bra strap I am around past armpit ? Picture below, so it was a big trim. I'm planning to go back in two months or sooner to get another inch taken off. I can still see a few split ends and I want them gone. For now I'm just going to do the search and destroy method.

I'm starting to feel like my hair just stops growing when it gets around bra strap length. I know that's a myth that hair stops growing at a certain length but it just feels that way. Do I have any desire as of now to achieve length like I once was.. Honestly not really, I mean the point of my journey was to get to waist length which is still a goal, but I just want to keep it short so that it can get healthy. Finally the health over length has kick in but yeah...

But to contradict myself I'm dying to color my hair again!!! But no drastic color change just a light brown hair color. will it happen? maybe no time soon but that's a change I have been thinking about. You can have color treated hair and have a pretty healthy head of hair. I won't be coloring my hair anytime soon I'll just wait once my hair becomes healthy.

Here are some of the products that I had pick up so far. . . . .

Each product was pick up on a whim since I notice that they were all on sale at Target. I really wanted to try the Camile Rose Product so this was perfect timing. I plan on using this as a daily moisturizer. I don't know if that's what its meant for I'm kind of confused about this product. Any thoughts on how you use it or what you like/dislike about it will be appreciated. So far since my purchase I have only used it once and it left my hair feeling soft and smelling good. My thoughts so far

Also I thought maybe I can skip out on shampoo every other week and use the Coconut Co wash Cleansing Conditioner as a substitute. I just hope my hair reacts well to this product since Coconut Oil is in the top 5 of ingredients. As for the It's a 10 just thought on trying a new deep conditioner since the Algae Renew D/C from Camile Rose was sold out. (My next purchase once I'm done with the It's a 10)

Speak to you soon :)

  2. Your hair looks really great in this picture! Not sure what you have left to cut off, but it cannot be much:) I definitely understand you on the health over length thing. Two months ago I cut my hair from a little past APL to a NL bob which I love! I definitely appreciate my fully healthy head of hair over my ragedy ends.

Umm, Hey ?!

I  have not written a post in over a few months now & I feel a little okay about it. I just was not in the mood to really write about hair. It just started to become repetitive & a little boring to me. Don't get me wrong I still plan on documenting my hair journey & I still enjoy everything hair related. It was just a moment for me that I was kind of over it. I have been enjoying my hair length & been using heat a little too much, but that's okay. I mean isn't that the point of reaching your goal length, to enjoy it in whatever way you want? Well I definitely did & now it's time to get back to my normal hair routine. I still have a long term goal I want to achieve. So let's see where I go from here. This is my small space on the internet & I don't plan on abandoning it any time soon.

Hair Length Check In

I can not believe how far my hair has come. My hair has been in a protective for half the year, which was a sew-in. I did not have a sew in for the summer I gave my hair a break. I am currently debating if I should get another sew in for the colder months that is coming but I am not sure. My hair feels fuller & thicker. I was even asked if I had a weave in lol. Here is my current length. Am I Mid-Back length ? This picture was taken in Oct/13  Here is my current length as of Oct/14

Giving Weave A Try | Update

I have been thinking about changing my hair a lot recently from the color to deciding if I want to relax it. I just been bored with my hair and I have been trying to do as many natural styles but its either I can't do it, doesn't come out right or it doesn't look right on me. I don't want to manipulate my hair anymore. I'm done with experimenting with color on my own hair and I don't want to continue putting heat on my hair just to cause damage. Soooooo I been thinking about trying out weave? I been looking into it for awhile but now I'm doing my research on it. I don't see any harm in getting weaves what so ever. I can color it and put heat on it I can also pick different textures. Only thing that's holding me back is that awkward feeling of people knowing your actual length and then the next day your hair is down your back lol. But I can get over it I think. This would be a great protective style and I'm hoping it can last for at least 3 months...
