2013 Hair Goals

Lets start off by saying Happy New Year ! 2012 is gone and now we begin our journey to 2013

I can say overall 2012 was a good year for my hair I had some mishaps from my self trimming and getting cuts multiple times, but I still had some good with reaching past bra strap length and actually saying that my hair is pretty healthy for it being colored treated. 2012 was great to my hair in my opinion. So now it's time to start my 2013 hair goals that I know I can achieve:

1. Maintaining the health of my hair
Now that I have achieved almost healthy hair I need to keep up with it and make sure it does not revert. I wasn't using heat that often maybe every two months are so and I was frequently co washing my hair which I believe is what helped my hair.

2. Less Trimming ! I need to stay away from scissors
Reason I'm not at BSL is because of being scissor happy. I always felt the need to cut my hair for some reason even if it didn't need a trim. So this year I am only going to do the Search and Destroy method unless a cut is absolutely necessary. But that's what I'm planning to stick to for at least half the year to see how it works for me.

3. Continue with my protective styles
Literally all year I have had my hair in a bun, well almost all year, curly buns I preferred. Which is basically co washed hair or braid outs in a bun. That was always my go to hair style. This year would be weaves and when that's taken out my buns lol.

4. My biggest goal reaching waist length if possible
And if not full MBL

I am looking forward to seeing what 2013 has in store for me and my hair journey. I'm hoping its positive! So happy new year/hair journey !!!!

Umm, Hey ?!

I  have not written a post in over a few months now & I feel a little okay about it. I just was not in the mood to really write about hair. It just started to become repetitive & a little boring to me. Don't get me wrong I still plan on documenting my hair journey & I still enjoy everything hair related. It was just a moment for me that I was kind of over it. I have been enjoying my hair length & been using heat a little too much, but that's okay. I mean isn't that the point of reaching your goal length, to enjoy it in whatever way you want? Well I definitely did & now it's time to get back to my normal hair routine. I still have a long term goal I want to achieve. So let's see where I go from here. This is my small space on the internet & I don't plan on abandoning it any time soon.

Hair Length Check In

I can not believe how far my hair has come. My hair has been in a protective for half the year, which was a sew-in. I did not have a sew in for the summer I gave my hair a break. I am currently debating if I should get another sew in for the colder months that is coming but I am not sure. My hair feels fuller & thicker. I was even asked if I had a weave in lol. Here is my current length. Am I Mid-Back length ? This picture was taken in Oct/13  Here is my current length as of Oct/14

Giving Weave A Try | Update

I have been thinking about changing my hair a lot recently from the color to deciding if I want to relax it. I just been bored with my hair and I have been trying to do as many natural styles but its either I can't do it, doesn't come out right or it doesn't look right on me. I don't want to manipulate my hair anymore. I'm done with experimenting with color on my own hair and I don't want to continue putting heat on my hair just to cause damage. Soooooo I been thinking about trying out weave? I been looking into it for awhile but now I'm doing my research on it. I don't see any harm in getting weaves what so ever. I can color it and put heat on it I can also pick different textures. Only thing that's holding me back is that awkward feeling of people knowing your actual length and then the next day your hair is down your back lol. But I can get over it I think. This would be a great protective style and I'm hoping it can last for at least 3 months...
