Wash Day and Self Trim !

Wash Day
1. Shampoo with Nexxus Pro Mend
2. Condition with Nexxus Humectress
3. Deep Condition with Macadamia Natural Oil Masque (1hr) HAIR FELT GREAT!
4. I applied my leaves in & heat protectant
5. Blow Dry & Flat Iron

I just trimmed my hair, myself ! When I was done with my washing routine I notice that my ends were DRY. Something I never notice. My entire head was still wet but my ends, they had dried up so quickly & felt rough. & out of no where I TRIM THEM I don't know why I decided to cut it I just did. Now I'm having a love hate relationship with my "cut". I love that my ends feel so much more better but I hate that my hair is back to the same length it always stays at & it's UNEVEN! I'm debating if I should go to the salon & get it cut evenly causing it to be even shorter or just wait. I don't know ladies help me decide please. Other then that I had a successful wash day being that I used NO product's that had contained anything related to PROTEIN! I had minimal shedding being that this time I washed in sections & I deep condition for an hour (had taken a nap). Overall my hair feels GREAT with the trim even though it has some unevenness :(  (Sorry for the blurry pic) But you can see the cut on the right side. I'm also planning to go back to the basics of hair care being that those procedures help me retain the length that I just cut. Frequent washes, BUNS, deep conditioning & Moisturizing & Sealing. Also staying away from heat but that's going to be a tough one I just might keep it to how I'm doing it now with heat 2x a month. That isn't to much heat is it?
What do you ladies think should I get a cut to even it out or just let it grow out?

  1. I say leave it alone. My left side is shorter than my right due to me trying to self trim, smh. So, I decided to wait until Jan 1st to even out my hemline. I don't wear my hair out so know one will know. Since you are going to bun I'm thinking the same applies to you

    1. I'm planning to just stick to my buns & protective styles for the time being. But next time I would not be doing a self trim lol!

  2. What method do you use for trimming your hair? The trim is up to you. You will have to trim if you want it even. If you plan to wear your hair down and straight you'd probably want to trim sooner rather than later. Your hair is beautiful!

    1. I didn't even look into any methods I just cut the nasty dry ends off & I'm still thinking about it. If I cut now I won't have to worry about an even cut when my hair has grown Abit more.

    2. Google Faye's Method of visit my blog for the link (It's on the latest relaxer day post). I used that method on my last relaxer day and my hair was cut even. You could probably use that method to even out your hair. It shows you how to get a blunt shape. U shape, or V shape. HHG.

Umm, Hey ?!

I  have not written a post in over a few months now & I feel a little okay about it. I just was not in the mood to really write about hair. It just started to become repetitive & a little boring to me. Don't get me wrong I still plan on documenting my hair journey & I still enjoy everything hair related. It was just a moment for me that I was kind of over it. I have been enjoying my hair length & been using heat a little too much, but that's okay. I mean isn't that the point of reaching your goal length, to enjoy it in whatever way you want? Well I definitely did & now it's time to get back to my normal hair routine. I still have a long term goal I want to achieve. So let's see where I go from here. This is my small space on the internet & I don't plan on abandoning it any time soon.

Hair Length Check In

I can not believe how far my hair has come. My hair has been in a protective for half the year, which was a sew-in. I did not have a sew in for the summer I gave my hair a break. I am currently debating if I should get another sew in for the colder months that is coming but I am not sure. My hair feels fuller & thicker. I was even asked if I had a weave in lol. Here is my current length. Am I Mid-Back length ? This picture was taken in Oct/13  Here is my current length as of Oct/14

Giving Weave A Try | Update

I have been thinking about changing my hair a lot recently from the color to deciding if I want to relax it. I just been bored with my hair and I have been trying to do as many natural styles but its either I can't do it, doesn't come out right or it doesn't look right on me. I don't want to manipulate my hair anymore. I'm done with experimenting with color on my own hair and I don't want to continue putting heat on my hair just to cause damage. Soooooo I been thinking about trying out weave? I been looking into it for awhile but now I'm doing my research on it. I don't see any harm in getting weaves what so ever. I can color it and put heat on it I can also pick different textures. Only thing that's holding me back is that awkward feeling of people knowing your actual length and then the next day your hair is down your back lol. But I can get over it I think. This would be a great protective style and I'm hoping it can last for at least 3 months...
