I think I was never suffering from protein overload. My hair just wasn't retaining any of the moisture because I had product build up. I had realized that I wasn't clarifying my hair monthly and I was barely using a shampoo. Also there were days that I didn't co-wash my hair. So my hair just had so much product in it that it wasn't letting anything else in (From what I think).
On Sunday I think it was I had shampoo my hair with a mini sample of HE Hello Hydration Shampoo. From there I had use the HE Hello Hydration conditioner as well (The conditioner was already purchase before I posted my haul). My hair was feeling all types of great! I was able to detangle easily and felt the slip the conditioner had given to my hair. Once I was done I had T-Shirt dry and apply my NTM Leave - In. I braid my hair into two braids and went to bed. The next morning my hair felt SOOOO Soft and Moisturized ! Even my Boyfriend told me how soft my hair was (I would typically rant to him about how rough my hair was, lol). But that night I had M&S with NTM leave in & EVOO. Next day same results it was soft and felt moisturized, even the ends! That same night I had co-wash my hair with the HE conditioner and braided my hair into two braids again woke up had amazing hair!
I believe that the build up came from "cones" because I don't have many products that contain mineral oil except one. I realized just earlier today that my suave conditioner has cones as well as my deep conditioner which was the DPR +11 had cones also my NTM has cones. So I know common sense the only way of removing the cones is with shampoo. Can correct me if I’m wrong (still doing my research). But lets hope that next week my hair continues to do good. This week was a successful week for my hair and if it was protein overload can someone get over that in just a week? Idk but I’m happy my hair is feeling great and now I feel really scared to put protein back into my hair so now I’m thinking of a new regimen with less protein more moisture, well a balance of the two. Any advice I’m gladly to accept. I’m postponing to cut my ends for the following week the weather over here won’t be looking to good (raining) & I was getting my hair straighten so I’ll just hold off.
